Together with our Partners Ola Apenes and Bjørn Erik Pihlman we have built a state of the art virtual production studio under the name LED HUB. This will be used for Research and development, education and production. This will tell you all you want to know about our “spaceship” that we have used four years to get up and running.
In 2021 we started getting curious about virtual production (VP). At the time there were no studios in Norway and started playing with the idea of building our own. A research project in cooperation with IFE and partners in the business we have made it happen and in march 2025, we opened LED HUB studios in Drammen, Norway and did our first commercial project.
Sharing is caring:
Communities are built through sharing wins and losses and over the last 20 years we have done both and always been open on lessons learned. Our ambition for this studio is to bring together everybody in the business that are curious about VP from producers, creatives, DPs, gaffers, gamedesigners and curious George`s. We believe sharing is beneficial for everyone. Netron`s ambition is to be the best content producers for VP and be the ones pushing the limits.
We will do research and share what we learn with those who are curious. And we will feel our way forward as this is still quite new and open.
And if you got this far, you might want to look under the hood. Here it is:
LED wall
Our VP stage is a 4-14 meter (13 by 46 ft) LED screen with a pitch of 1.95 mm. On full throttle it emits 1600 nits. It is delivered by Expromo and we have a smaller demo wall at our offices in Fredrikstad. The wall is modular and can be reconfigurated in different ways. Our default setup is shown in the picture.
Lighting
We have 12 Aputure Nova P600c lamps in the ceiling over the stage and a large diffuser. In addition we have two mobile Aputure Nova LS 600c pro II lamps on the floor. There are ceiling fixtures for hanging additional lamps, flags or wild walls. We have our own studio lift making rigging quick and easy.
