Digital becomes physical and practical

The most important task of the week has been to concretize and plan the work ahead. Morten (IFE) and Simen (Netron) met for a full-day working session where we discussed innovations, issues, opportunities, challenges, and limitations surrounding the research.

We started by segmenting physical objects on a scene. We prepared practical tests for implementation in March/April this year.

Practical hardware for implementation was discussed. For software, Cloud Compare og Segment Anything were mentioned among several tools for comparison and segmentation of physical and digital scenes.

Practical tasks with agreements and assignments were also concretized and distributed.

Simen, Morten Marius og Morten discussing the collaboration and opportunities surrounding the research project.

Commercialization of the research was also a key topic. Identifiers that Miles and Simen had previously discussed became a natural part of the conversation with Morten. It’s important that all parties are in agreement around the idea that parts of what we’re researching could indeed become products in the future.
