Technical Choices, Part 1

Technical possibilities, limitations, and costs have been key focuses this week. Atea Fredrikstad, Led Hub and Netron met in person to examine alternatives sourced by Atea from various manufacturers. The task was/is to plan a test environment in an LED volume. Insights from all three partners are highly relevant in the discussion. The technical alternatives are still very much in the R&D stage, and making decisions that are adequate for industries that may not necessarily know their real needs is a challenging exercise. We will assess this against costs and the flexibility of the LED volume.

Regarding the latter, flexibility in an LED volume is one of the most critical elements. Configuring screen setups according to the scene’s requirements is one of the major advantages of an LED volume. It can also limit the need for a large LED volume, thereby reducing production costs.

At present, we may find ourselves satisfied with a pixel pitch of around 1.9 and cabinet quality robust enough to reconfigure the LED screens.
