In connection with the establishment of an independent theater as a limited company, owned by the county municipality and the municipality of Fredrikstad, Østfold Internasjonale Teater (ØIT) needed a website that complements their new identity and profile.

Background

The theater wants a website that delivers a range of functions. It should provide a solid foundation for the development of their digital services in both the short and medium term. This includes a website that solves several functions, such as linking to ticket purchases, displaying the program for performances, and articles, among others.

In the work on the website, we conducted several workshops together with ØIT and Provinsen AS. Provinsen AS had already developed the visual identity. We chose a simple qualitative approach as our methodological solution.

In brief, we did it as follows:

  1. The process began with a working meeting where we examined how the current solution functions. We looked at what kind of experiences everyone has with it; technically, how it has worked in practice, and how it communicates to users.
  2. We concluded this in an experience document.
  3. Based on this, a proposal was developed on how the website(s) should function, including how we should prioritize content and features to be relevant and user-friendly. This is to meet the expectations of the users.
  4. We conducted a simple internal user test.
  5. As expected, this required us to adjust some choices in the user journey on the website.
